Out Door Living Spaces

Now that spring is here, you probably want to spend as much time outdoors as possible. Outdoor living spaces that fit your interests and lifestyle can be a great way to enjoy nature while still relaxing in the comforts of your home. In order to create an outdoor space that is unique to you, consider your favorite aspects of nature and plan to incorporate one or two of those into the design. Highlighting a specific element of the outdoors will ease the transition from indoors to outdoors and create a welcoming focal point for your space.

Fire

Fire, a basic element of nature, adds cozy feeling to your outdoor living space. Whether you have a fire pit, chimney, or fire place, the presence of fire in the area creates a central gathering place and hearth.

Water

Water offers a sense of serenity and relaxation. If you are fortunate enough to have a natural source of water – such as a bay, ocean or lake – consider building a structure that acts as both a dock and porch. You can include chairs, tables and umbrellas to add room for guests to chat, eat or lounge in the sun.

Installing a man-made pool can be equally as scenic as a natural body of water. Try to seamlessly incorporate the water by building it flush against your patio or porch. Stairs that descend from the porch to the water allow guests to hang out in the pool or at the water’s edge while still being part of the deck activities.

Wood and Stone

Incorporating natural woods and stone into your space adds a rustic charm. Choosing wood and stone that matches the natural makeup of your location makes your space a perfect combination of indoor and outdoor living.

Stone walls and barriers also add a unique flare to your space. A stone wall incorporated into a bath tub or shower can create a peaceful waterfall effect.

Regardless of how you design the space, be sure to use features that ensure an easy flow from indoors to outdoors. Fire, water, wood and stone are all essential, natural elements that can give you a springboard for designing a space that fits your unique tastes.

  1. Most of homes are decorated by using fine colors and texture, furniture and lights especially when it comes in curtain. Good texture and proper display of an object is one way to decorate.
